Panhead frame deraking

This trike was built several years back with a 48 degree neck angle and a standard set of 41mm wide glide triple trees. The trike was built unaware that the steering trail was excessive. The trike was unridable. At 20 mph, it shook and wobbled uncontrollably! The problem was brought us to correct the steering. With some recalculating of the steering trail and length of fork tubes we proposed a way to fix the problem. We removed the front end and recut the neck. It was brought in from 48 degrees to 31 degrees. [picture#1] The neck had to be retrammed for straightness. [Picture #2] With all the welding and frame fabrication done the neck was ready for molding and paint. [pictures 3 & 4]. With the neck repainted [pictures 5 & 6] we installed one of our [machine & design] 71/2 degree 41mm triple tree sets to the front end. Fully reassembled the trike maintained the look and wheelbase the owner had requested. [pictures 7,8 & 9]. We then test road the trike it handled and tracked great. All of the steering problems were gone. This trike would now handle all that the panhead motor could give.
